2018 – Media, PA

Mobilizing with Engineering Ministries International  (EMI)

Today is the first snowfall here in Media, PA. Snow and winter season is always a time of reflection for me.

In preparation for our mobilization with EMI, I am wrapping up the work in my private practice and transferring project to other Architects, I can’t help but wonder about the work that is set before me.

Just like at the end of Psalm 90, I am asking for the Lord’s favour in the coming years as I design projects with EMI:

"May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands" - Psalm 90: 17

This was a Psalm written by Moses. Did you know that Moses was a song writer? And as I dug deeper into the other two songs that were written by Moses, I discovered two things:

1)     There is an immediacy in the work that is set before us as our days are numbered (v.12) and also Deuteronomy 32.
2)     It is acceptable to take the time to celebrate when we are able to enjoy the work we do and are rewarded by glimpses of God’s redemptive work (Exodus 15).

Today is also a special day for us as Li-Ann and I have secured pledges for 100% of our mobilizing costs to be able to move to the EMI office in Calgary. Praise the Lord!

As we have been here in Media for over 20 years, there is a lot of packing to be done by the end of the year. I will be co-leading my first EMI project in January.
Then, we will formally make the move to Calgary in February.

Grace and Peace to you all who have partnered with us in this walk with EMI,
Danny Chong
